Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi (2018) Review


Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi (transl. What happened to this city?) is a 2018 Indian Telugu-language buddy comedy drama film written and directed by Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam and produced by Suresh Babu.


The film stars Vishwak Sen, Sai Sushanth Reddy, Abhinav Gomatam, Venkatesh Kakumanu, Anisha Ambrose, Simran Choudhary, and Galusheya Daria.


The music was composed by Vivek Sagar with cinematography by Nikith Bommireddy and editing by Ravi Teja Girijala. The film released on 29 June 2018. It received positive reviews and went on to become a commercial success. Vishwak Sen won Best Debut Actor award at 17th Santosham Film Awards in 2019.


Vivek, Karthik, Kaushik, and Uppi are childhood friends who dream of a career in filmmaking during their college days. But they eventually give up their plans and settle in other jobs. Vivek resigns his job and lives in isolation, still unable to get over his breakup with Shilpa; Karthik works as a manager in a club and plans on marrying his boss's daughter and settling in the US; Kaushik works as a dubbing artist and wants to become an actor; and Uppi works as a wedding photographer.


Karthik arranges a bachelor's party for four of them, where they run into Shirley, who joins them to conduct a casual promotional contest in which they narrate her their old friendship, their first short film work and Vivek's love story. Shirley invites them to an event in Goa and leaves.

San Andreas (2015) Review


San Andreas is a 2015 American disaster film directed by Brad Peyton and written by Carlton Cuse, with Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore receiving story credit. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario, Ioan Gruffudd, Archie Panjabi, and Paul Giamatti. Its plot centers on an earthquake caused by the San Andreas Fault devastating Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area.


Principal photography of the film started on April 22, 2014 in Queensland, Australia and wrapped up on July 28 in San Francisco. The film was released worldwide in 2D and 3D on May 29, 2015, received mixed reviews from critics, praising the visual effects and Johnson and Gugino's performances but criticizing the plot and characters. It grossed $474 million worldwide.


Caltech seismologist Dr. Lawrence Hayes and his colleague Dr. Kim Park are at Hoover Dam testing a new earthquake predicting model when a nearby and previously unknown fault ruptures, triggering a 7.1 magnitude earthquake that collapses the dam; Park is killed shortly after rescuing a child.


Hayes discovers that the entire San Andreas Fault is shifting and will soon cause a series of major earthquakes, potentially destroying cities along the fault line. He begins racing to warn the population of California along with his students Alexi and Phoebe and reporter Serena Johnson.

Comali (2019) Review


Comali (transl.Clown) is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language comedy movie produced by Vels Film International and written and directed by Pradeep Ranganathan in his directorial debut.


Also known by its working title during production, JR24, the film stars Jayam Ravi, Kajal Aggarwal, Yogi Babu, Samyuktha Hegde and K. S. Ravikumar. The film marks the first collaboration between Ravi and Aggarwal, and the second collaboration between Ravi and Hiphop Tamizha, after the 2015 film Thani Oruvan.


The film was released on 15 August 2019. Comali follows Ravi, a coma patient who has missed 19 years of his life and struggles to adapt to the new improved world.


Ravi is a school student whose father brought him up with many morals, like treating everyone fairly. He loves his classmate Nikitha and has tried proposing to her, but without success. After gathering courage, he decides to propose to her.


On 31 December 1999, he declares his love, however at that precise moment, a goon Dharmaraj breaks into the scene and takes Nikitha as a human shield while escaping after killing a rival gangster, Gaaja. Ravi gets hit by a truck as well as hits his head on the grill of a car while trying to save her and ends up comatose.

Fantastic Beasts (2018) Review


Fantastic Beasts The Crimes of Grindelwald is a 2018 fantasy film directed by David Yates and written by J. K. Rowling. A joint American and British production, it is the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016).


It is the second instalment in the Fantastic Beasts film series and the tenth overall in the Wizarding World franchise, which began with the Harry Potter film series.


It features an ensemble cast including Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim, William Nadylam, Kevin Guthrie, Jude Law and Johnny Depp.


It follows Newt Scamander and Albus Dumbledore as they attempt to take down the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald while facing new threats in a more divided wizarding world.

The Wailing (2016) Review


The Wailing (Korean: 곡성; Hanja: 哭聲; RR: Gokseong) is a 2016 South Korean horror film directed by Na Hong-jin and starring Kwak Do-won, Hwang Jung-min, Chun Woo-hee. The film centers on a policeman who investigates a series of mysterious killings and illnesses in a remote Korean hamlet called Gokseong in order to save his daughter. The film was both a commercial and critical success.


After a Japanese man arrives at Gokseong, a small village in the mountains of South Korea, a mysterious infection breaks out and causes the villagers to become deranged and violently kill their families.


One night at the police station, officers Oh Seong-bok and Jong-goo are discussing the Japanese stranger when a naked woman appears in the rain. They later discover the woman, infected, has murdered her family.


At the crime scene, Jong-goo meets a mysterious young woman called Moo-myeong (“no name” in Korean), who tells him the Japanese man is a ghost and the culprit. Jong-goo steps outside to call Oh Seong-bok, and the woman vanishes. A local hunter tells them he saw the stranger with glowing red eyes, eating a raw deer in the forest.
